Check out http://www.qash.nl (use google translate if you need to), does kind of what you're intending. My hope with sites like these, as they become more popular, will force one of two changes:
a) banks start to bring this kind of functionality into their own infrastructure
b) they become more open with _my_ data (securely ofcourse)

Let's just pray it's going to be option B.

Further desirable feature; map showing which ATMs will only give out the spectacularly irritating 50 euro notes. And how long the queues are. And whether the people in the queues are of the irritating variety who have no idea how to use a bank machine.

Well, I can dream.

Some nice ideas. A few minor hurdles: 1) RSS == must be SSL encrypted, 2) SMS will cost you money (depending upon your cel plan) 3) Dashboard widget... Would a callable SSL web service be ok?

I'll pass on your blog and see if they find anything interesting.

Have you checked out mint.com? It's nowhere near as cool as what you're describing but still pretty spiffy.

Patrick, check out www.mint.com. I believe they offer some of these services (using your own bank's web site), and they're more likely than any bank to listen to feature requests.
